The use of biomaterial and mono material – polyethylene for the production of tape allows organizing the processes of collecting and processing packaging as efficiently as possible and reducing environmental pollution.

POLYETHYLENE

This is the most common material for zip-lock manufacture.

Polyethylene of any type is shock-, water-, dust- and frostproof, thus the goods from this material have a low-level gas and steam penetration. Packaging made with such zip-lock is popular among manufacturers of coffee, tea, seasonings, cereals, loose products, sweets, and dairy products as this material is food-friendly. Food in packaging with a polyethylene zip-lock is humidity proof and protected against foreign smells.

POLYPROPYLENE

This is a less common material for the zip-lock manufacture.

This material is shockproof, resistant to numerous bends, has a good level of wear-resistance, a low rate of gas and steam penetration and a high dielectric index. As the very material has higher melting point than polyethylene, the goods made of polypropylene have a high heat-resistance and lasting quality.

Packaging with such zip-lock is used by manufacturers of heavy-duty packages of larger holding capacity and of retorts where food is exposed to high temperature about 120 °C.

BIOMATERIAL

In the modern world of packaging, the environmentally friendly packaging easy to recycle stands out. A zip-lock can be produced of biopolymer materials that if accompanied with appropriate packaging, enables consumers to compost used packaging under ordinary conditions and that won’t harness the environment while degrading. This type of material is used for eco-friendly or craft packaging. Quality and safety of the goods made of biopolymer materials is proven according to the experiments and tests conducted at Ukrainian and European laboratories.
